TrebleFest Ottawa

Hosted by Hypatia’s Voice, TrebleFest Ottawa celebrates the beauty and vibrant sounds of upper voices choirs. The festival welcomes Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt, Professor Emerita at the University of Toronto and a celebrated expert in treble choirs, as the guest Director and Clinician.

This inclusive event features guest choirs—Aella Choir, Cantiamo Choirs of Ottawa, and OCC Chamber Choir—and the host choir Hypatia’s Voice, alongside individual sopranos and altos from across the region. All singers in the soprano or alto range, regardless of gender identity, are invited to join in workshops, festival choir rehearsals, and a culminating concert. Dr. Apfelstadt will also lead a conducting workshop designed to nurture the skills of emerging conductors.

The final event of the festival is a free concert at St. Matthew’s on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm. The program will offer an inspiring showcase of repertoire for upper voices performed by the festival choir as well as each of the guest choirs.
